My Story

My upbringing in a rural environment, with a father who worked as a farmer and a mother who was a cosmetologist, has had a profound impact on the artist I have become today. Growing up on our family's farm, I was exposed to the inherent beauty of nature and instilled with the value of hard work from a young age. Additionally, my mother's passion for creativity and our collection of cultural artifacts introduced me to the realms of art, literature, and antiques, which greatly influenced my artistic perspective.  During my time in high school, I actively sought out opportunities to further explore my interests in art, literature, and agriculture. By joining clubs and enrolling in relevant classes, I was able to broaden my artistic horizons and experiment with various mediums and techniques. I delved into the creation of natural dyes and paints, translating symbolism from books into visual art, and drawing inspiration from the inherited antiques in my possession.  Through my upbringing and subsequent exploration, I have cultivated a distinct artistic perspective that seamlessly blends my rural background with the diverse influences I have encountered throughout my artistic journey. This fusion of experiences allows me to create art that is deeply rooted in my rural roots, while also incorporating elements from a range of artistic disciplines.

As I grew older and explored the world of design, I found a love for graphic design and its challenges. I encountered difficulties in using different materials to express artistic ideas and translating them into graphic design. These challenges stayed with me as I studied Graphic Design in college. In this environment, I furthered my career, learning principles and skills that allowed me to communicate various emotions. This led to my deep appreciation for artistic movements such as Modernism and Minimalism. My graphic design work is greatly inspired by modernism and minimalism. I implement these design styles when screen-printing my designs. Nevertheless, in my artistic pursuits beyond graphic design, I am influenced by the same elements but possess the ability to explore the creation of art for my own satisfaction. As a Graphic Designer, my objective is to produce work for others and assist them in obtaining something they cherish from my creations. Conversely, when crafting sculptures, I have the ability to generate art that reflects my personal perspective, allowing others to comprehend how I perceive the world.

Drawing inspiration from my background in graphic design, my personal artistic expression is profoundly influenced. Moreover, I enhance the complexity and significance of my abstract sculptures by incorporating multiple layers into their composition. The academic field of theological aesthetics involves the examination of the relationship between theology and aesthetics. It is focused on exploring questions related to God and theological concepts by considering them in the context of sensory experiences, beauty, and artistic expressions. Religious art serves as a visual manifestation of religious beliefs and their connection to humanity. It is closely intertwined with sacred art, as both forms aim to facilitate worship and religious rituals. Religious art plays a distinctive function in educating individuals about religion. It accomplishes this by portraying various bodily postures, movements, narratives, and doctrines that are associated with a specific religious heritage. It employs visual representations and symbolic elements to effectively convey significant teachings.

My sculptures serve as a means for me to convey my personal beliefs and interpretations of Biblical narratives and Christian teachings. Many of my pieces are crafted with the intention of evoking a profound impact on those who observe them. Certain artworks are specifically crafted as devotionals, aimed at prompting contemplation on matters of faith and spirituality. I am particularly drawn to exploring the concept of the soul and delving into my own perceptions and insights on this complex subject. The intricacies of the human soul captivate my interest and serve as the primary inspiration for my sculptures. The interplay between the spirit, the soul, and the physical body undoubtedly forms a complex bond; however, this connection is undeniably genuine.
